Abstract: The polymorphism of BMPR-IB gene which was one of the candidate genes on the fecundity of Cele black sheep was analyzed by PCR-RFLP method. The relationship between the polymorphism of BMPR-IB gene and litter size was studied. The average litter size of BB,B+ and ++ were 3.00, 2.66 and 1.98 respectively in 100 Cele black sheep which were selected randomly. The litter size of BB and B+ were significantly higher more than ++ (P<0.01), but there was no significant difference between BB and B+(P>0.05). These results indicated that the litter size of Cele black sheep was affected by B allele significantly and it could be used for the selection in Cele black sheep as one of the molecular genetic markers.
