PCR-RFLP Polymorphisms of LXRs Genes in Tibet Pigs

Abstract: The LXRα and LXRβ genes were main candidate genes for muscle growth and fat deposition. In the present study, the polymorphisms of LXRα-Bsl I and LXRβ-Aci I were measured with PCR-RFLP in 112 individuals of Tibet pig. The results showed that the LXRα-Bsl I in Tibet pig had 3 genotypes of CC, CG and GG, and frequents were 0.4286, 0.4643 and 0.1071 respectively. The LXRβ-Aci I in Tibet pig had 3 genotypes of TT, TC and CC, and frequents were 0.1964, 0.5179 and 0.2857 respectively. For the genotype distribution of the two genes Tibet pig was much different with lean-type pig breeds, which might be related to the special traits of muscle and fat developments in Tibet pig.
