Abstract: In order to study the relationship between antibiotics and probiotics for safe animal production, two kinds of antibiotics (aureomycin and colistin sulfate) were used to study the inhibiting effect of antibiotics on the growth of Lactobacillus by measuring the pH value, absorbance value and viable cell number. The results showed that 0.025% aureomycin and 0.05% colistin sulfate had significant effect on inhibiting the growth of Lactobacillus after 24 h anaerobic incubation(P<0.05); the inhibiting effect of antibiotics became weak with the extending incubation time, indicating the endurable ability of Lactobacillus for antibiotics became stronger.
