Abstract: This study aimed to investigate molecular genetic characteristics of the follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) β gene and elucidate the effects of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of FSHβ on some reproductive performance in Nuogu pig. We used polymerase chain reaction single-strand conformation polymorphism (PCR-SSCP) and sequencing the coding sequence of the FSHβ gene in 58 individuals. The results showed that two new polymorphic sites were found in exon 2 on 6699 bp and 6708 bp. The A allele frequency was 0.288,the B allele frequency was 0.119,while the C allele frequency was 0.593. There were no significant difference in five genotypes(AA,CC,AB,AC,BC),because of the two mutant sites were the synonymy mutations.
