Abstract: The negative effects of veterinary drug residues on food safety have become more and more obvious, so high requirements have been made for the rapid detection of veterinary drugs residues in food. This article introduces the basic principle of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), classification and the key technologies for the establishment of ELISA. Aspects involved the application, problem and prospect of ELISA in the detection of veterinary drug residues in foods were reviewed in the paper.
