Abstract

Abstract: Various tumor types associated with ALV-J were observed in a Hy-Line variety brown flock from a town in Hubei province. In the postmortem, eight of the ten dead layers showed myeloid leukemia with live and spleen enlargement with diffuse gray-white nodules. Histological examination indicated that the myeloid leukemia cells proliferated were observed almost in all tissues. Five of the ten cases showed a number of tumor types, including fibrosarcoma, hemangioma and liposarcoma in addition to myelocytoma. By PCR diagnosis with the specific ALV-J primer H5/H7, ALV-J was detected in all of the ten birds.
