Abstract: In order to kown the safety of sangxing pingchuan granules and provide data support for the clinical medication, 80 Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups (one control group and three treatment groups), and each group had 20 rats. The control group was taken normal saline by intragastric administration. The three treatment groups were grvaged with water solutions of sangxing pingchuan granules at doses of 30, 15, 3 g(crude drug) (kg稡W), respectively. The drug was fed for 30 days continuously, and changes of body weight were recorded. The blood was collected every nine days for the analysis on some blood routine indices. The heart, liver, spleen, lung and kidney were taken and weighed to calculate organic indexes, then made intotissue sections for histopathological analysis. The results showed that sangxing pingchuan granules affected less on rats. So it was a low toxic and safe traditional Chinese medicine preparation which was suitable for clinical application.
