Abstract: A total of 720 one-day old laying ducks were randomly divided into four groups to determine the laying performance, fertility and hatchability. The control group was reared in traditional mode with pool.Experimental group one was reared in intensive mode without pool but with intermittent spray by pipeline 4 times a day half an hour once.Experimental group two and group three were reared in intensive mode without pool but with intermittent spray by showerheads 4 times a day and 3 times a day, half an hour once. The results showed that the experimental group two got significantly higher laying performance and better feed conversion ratio (P<0.05)than experimental group three with same showerhead, but different spraying frequency. The total egg number of 500 day-old experimental group one was 329.4, feed conversion ratio was 2.85,which were no significant difference(P>0.05) with experimental group two with same spraying frequency, but significantly higher (P<0.05)than the control group and experimental group three. The total egg weitht of 500 day-old experimental group one was 22.513 kg,which was no significant different (P>0.05),higher than the control group, but extremly significantly higher (P<0.01) than the experimental group three,The spraying water consumption of experimental group one was less than experimental group two. There were no significant difference(P>0.05)in fertility and hatchability between the four groups. Thus the mode of experimental group one was selected to be the best breeding mode for the layer ducks reared in intensive house without pool but with intermittent spray by pipeline four times a day on the yards the best spraying mode .
