Genetic Monitoring of Genomic DNA from Superfine Wool Sheep by AFLP

Abstract: We reported the application of AFLP markers to detect genetic polymorphic loci Xinji superfine wool sheep and their amplified APLP results. Their genetic construction of the population was also analyzed. Six APLP primers were used, genomic DNA from 24 sheep were restrictive by TaqⅠand EcoRⅠ,226 AFLP markers were obtained, the obtain marker numbers of individual primer were between 29 and 50. The results indicated as the following: AFLP marker was suitable for analysis genetic polymorphism in sheep, and the similarity index of population in Xinji superfine wool sheep was 0.914 to 0.982.The study provideed an useful parameter with appraise genetic stability of Xinji superfine wool sheep.
