Abstract: The 493bp fragment of Callipyge gene of 113 individuals was amplified by PCR, of which 35 were from Boer goat, 38 were from Nanjiang brown goat and 40 were from Chengde polled goat. There was a variation of C184T discovered by sequencing. Molecular genetic diversity of Callipyge gene with restriction endomuclease Fok I was studied by PCR-RFLP. The polymorphism was existed in Boer goat and Nanjiang brown goat. There were 3 genotypes, which was CC, CT and TT, respectively. The frequency of genotypes was 0.6571, 0.3143 and 0.0286 respectively in Boer goat. The frequency of genotypes was 0.8947, 0.1053 and 0.0000 respectively in Nanjiang brown goat. However, there is all CC genotype in Nanjiang brown goat. It suggested that there was a relationship of the variation of C184T to the trait of Callipyge in goat. 
