Abstract:

In order to understand the prevalence of the duck infectious serositis in different regions, and further to determine the sensitivity of the commonly used drugs for the Riemerella anatipestifer in these area.Bacteria were isolated from suspected infected ducks in Yunfu, and Kaiping in Guangdong province and Changshan in Zhejiang province. The isolated bacteria were identified by differential culture, microscopic examination and biochemical test. Micro dilution method was carried out in drug sensitivity test, and the MIC values of the isolated strains to the commonly used drugs were determined. As a result, a total of 16 strains of Riemerella anatipestifer were isolated and identified from three areas. Data of the MIC showed that all isolates were highly sensitive to cephalosporins and florfenicol;Doxycycline andspectinomycin were sensitive too,but enrofloxacin, neomycin and other tested drugs showed different degrees of resistance. The present study provided a systematic method for the isolation and identification of the Riemerella anatipestifer and for the drug sensitivity test.At the same time, it also provided theoretical guidance for the rational drug control of the duck infectious serositis.
