Abstract: CoQ10 is a quinone ring compound, existing in flora and fauna extensively, some biologists named it vitamin Q as it play a part in oxidative phosphorylation, regulation of apoptosis, radical scavenging, enhancing immunity and so on.The polymorphism of genes encoding CoQ10's synthase influence the level of CoQ10 and this makes it possible that treating the genes as markers in breeding of Black cattle. The mechanism of CoQ10 in oxidative phosphorylation and regulation of apoptosis, location and structure of the genes encoding CoQ10's synthase were summarized in this article. These materials provide reference for beef breeding in molecular marker technology.
