Abstract: The assay was aimed to investigate the cause of death of diseased and dead piglets,we collected samples and identified by growth characteristics of bacteria in different mediums, biochemistry identification,PCR amplification of 16S rRNA genes and sequence analysis. The results showed that the isolate was Listeria.Drug sensitive test of the isolate to 20 antibiotics was detected. The results showed that this bacterium was highly sensitive to penicillin G,fosfomycin and amoxicillin and so on;However,it was resistant to furazolidone and so on.The growth curve of Listeria showed that the bacterium was in the proliferation period when 37 ℃ cultured 6 to 14 h.The results of this study provided scientific bases for detection and treatment of listeriosis in China.
