Abstract: Babesiosis were exsiting in the tropical and subtropical country generally, and often resulted in great ecomomic losses in the livestock industry worldwide, and there was no sepcial drugs for this disease at present. This reviewed fouced on the progress on anti-babesiosis drugs in recent years. The effect drug imidocarb had deleterious effect on the liver function. The parasties genes had to be influenced by various mutations after treatment with atovaquone and azithromycin combination, particularly the cytochrome b gene, furthermore, the relapses after treatment by some anti-babesiosis drugs and the presence of drug resistant were still very serious. To develop compounds of anti-babesia had been focus on the heterocyclic compounds and their deribatives, such as thiazole and imidazole etc. To find the appropriate target genes in the parasite and its antagonist using molecular biology methods had achieved certain results, moreover, some experiments had showed that some natural medicines had effect on anti-babesia.
