Abstract: Haemophilus parasuis can cause Glasser’s disease in swine, which is mainly secondary infection and characterized by a polyserositis syndrome. An increase in the incidence, morbidity and mortality associated with Glasser’s disease has caused significant economic losses to the pig farms. By reviewing several potential virulence factors involved in H. parasuis infection and the use of new experimental approaches, the overall knowledge of the virulence related study of H. parasuis has been gained.
