Abstract: The main purpose of this study was the isolation of pathogenic bacterium from a died spotted deer from a Xinyu farm in Jiangxi province, bacterial isolating culture, biochemical identification, animal experiments and drug sensitivity text in vitro were performed, and further guided clinical diagnosis and treatment. The results showed that, three strains pathogenic bacterium were isolated from the liver, heart and lung of the died spotted deer, they were all gram-negative short bacillus. By bacterial isolating culture and biochemical identification which indicated that the disease of the spotted deer was caused by Escherichia coil. The three strains were virulent pathogens, the conclusion was showed by the animal experiments. The results of drug sensitivity test in vitro showed the three strains were strong drug-resistant, and the sensibility of three strains was different. The three strains were sensitive to furazolidone, kanamycin, gentamicin ceftriaxone, but resistant to cefazdin, cefradine, amoxicilin, levofloxach.
