Abstract: Interferon is a kind of glycoproteins with a high degree of biological activity, synthesized and secreted by somatic cells of all mammalian species when stimulated properly; with the function of broad-spectrum anti-viral,anti-tumor,anti-multiple sclerosis, inhibiting cell growth and mediating immune response. Since the discovery of interferon 50 years ago, great progress has been made so far. This article reviews the signal transduction,anti-virus mechanisms and their application in anti-FMD.
