Abstract: Intestinal mucosal barrier include mechanical barrier and immune barrier etc. The immune barrier mainly is composed of intestinal epithelial absorbed cells and gut-associated lymphoid tissue. Intestinal mucosal immune cells can be included by lymphocytes, goblet cells, mast cell and so on. And mast cell is one of the innate immune effector cells. It can not only play a key role in the innate immunity but also play an important role in the acquired immune by secreting of cytokine. Here we make a brief summary about biological characteristics of mast cell, and its function in intestinal immunological barrier.
