Clinical Cases and Treatment of Acute Necrotizing Gastroenteritis Caused by Clostridium welchii in Rex Rabbit

Abstract: Based on the clinical manifestations, pathological anatomy, blood smear and mucosa smear analysis in diseased Rex rabbit, and microscopic examination revealed short and rod-like Gram-positive bacteria with the characteristic in pairs or chain, oval spores and capsule, which primarily confirmed as acute necrotizing gastroenteritis caused by Clostridium welchii. 0.3 mL 5% Florfenicol injection were administrated to sick Rex rabbit by intramuscular injection kg per body weight, once a day, and a three-day separate therapy was performed; while prevention measure was adopted on healthy Rex rabbit by drinking water at the same time and satisfactory effects were obtained.
