Abstract: A study was conducted to evaluate the activation of peritoneal macrophages by polysaccharides extracted from Allium Mongolicum Regel in mice. The peritoneal macrophages were cultured at different concentration of Allium Mongolicum Regel polysaccharides, the phagocytosis capability, energy metabolism level and IL-6 activity were assayed. The results showed that Allium Mongolicum Regel polysaccharides could enhance the phagocytosis capability, energy metabolism level and IL-6 activity. Except the test of IL-6 activity, 400 μg/mL Allium Mongolicum Regel polysaccharides and the blank control group were not significant (P>0.05), in the other index, the test groups were significantly higher than the blank control group (P<0.05). The peritoneal macrophages could be activated by polysaccharides extracted from Allium Mongolicum Regel in mice.
