Abstract: Polymorphisms in 292G/A and 1168G/A locus of lipopolysaccharide binding protein (LBP) gene in 81 Meishan pigs were detected by PCR-RFLP method, the relationships between two polymorphic sites and partial important cytokines in blood serum were analyzed in this study to provide feasibility analysis of those polymorphic sites used for further disease-resistant breeding of pigs. The results showed that 292G/A and 1168G/A of LBP gene were digested by MspⅠ and Bsh1236Ⅰ, respectively, which could be divided into three kinds of genotypes (AA, AB and BB). PIC value of Meishan pigs in 1168G/A ranged from 0.25 to 0.5, which displayed moderate polymorphism. While the value of 292G/A was less than 0.25, which displayed low polymorphism. The correlation analysis indicated that IFN-α level of the BB genotype was significantly higher than that of the AA and AB genotypes in the 292G/A (P<0.05), while there had no significant differences in immune indices among the 3 kinds of genotypes based on the 1168G/A (P>0.05). To make a conclusion: The mutation in the 292G/A of LBP gene had probably some effects on general disease resistance in Meishan pigs. It is necessary to make a further analysis and verification of the hereditary effects in LBP gene 292G/A.
