Abstract: The experiment was aimed to study the effects of different doses of Chinese herbal medicine on immune efficiency of Newcastle disease oil emulsion inactivated vaccine in laying hens. Two hundred and fourty 100-day-old Brown laying hens were randomly divided into 4 groups with 5 replicates in each group and 12 hens in each replicate. The control group was fed with the basal diet with no adding Chinese herbal medicine, groupsⅠ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ were fed with the basal diet supplemented with 0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5% Chinese herbal medicine, respectively. The results showed that the serum Newcastle disease antibody titer of laying hens and serum Newcastle disease maternal antibody titer of chicken in groups Ⅱ and Ⅲ were significantly higher than those in control group and groupⅠ(P<0.05), moreover, groups Ⅱ and Ⅲ, control group and groupⅠ both had no significant differences(P>0.05). It pointed out that adding 1.0% or 1.5% Chinese herbal medicine could increase the Newcastle disease antibody titer, enhance the body’s immune ability.
