Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the seroprevalence of Chlamydia infection in yaks in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture,Gansu province,China, and to analyse the factors influence the Chlamydia infection in yaks.Indirect hemagglutination test (IHA) was used to detect antibodies against Chlamydia in 610 yak serum samples.Epidemiological and statistical methods were used to analyze the data. The results showed that the positive rate was 25.08%.Sampling season, gender and age of yaks were statistically significant for Chlamydia infection (P<0.05) as well as the number of pregnancy of female yak.In conclusion,Chlamydial prevalence in yaks in Gannan was high. Therefore, appropriate strategies and measures should be taken to control Chlamydia prevalence in yaks in this region.
