Abstract: In this study, the bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) strain Yak was used as material to sequence the complete genome.Nineteen pairs of primers were designed according to the complete genome sequence of BVDV-Ⅰ virus, the whole genome of BVDV strain Yak was cloned and sequenced. Sequence analysis showed that the genome was 12214 nucleotides (nt) in length, which contained a 288 nt 5'-untranslated region (UTR) and a 232 nt 3'-UTR. The complete genomic sequence of BVDV strain Yak had already submitted into GenBank (GenBank accession NO: JQ799141). Homologous analysis showed that homology of the whole genome sequence was low between BVDV strain Yak whole genome sequence and other 8 strains of BVDV whole genome sequences. Evolutionary tree results showed that the genetic evolution relationship was farther between BVDV strain Yak and other 8 strains of BVDV.
