Abstract: In order to understand the blood biochemistry parameters of Chinese indigenous pig breeds, twenty-four blood biochemistry parameters of three Chinese indigenous pig breeds (Tongcheng, Luchuan and Ningxiang pigs), were tested with the automatic biochemical analytic instrument. The results showed that six parameters were highly significant difference(P<0.01)among the three breeds, four parameters were no significant difference between Tongcheng and Ningxiang pig breeds, and three parameters were no significant difference between Luchuan and Ningxiang pig breeds. Throughout the comparison among the three pig breeds and between them and the human reference value, Chinese miniature pig, other domestic pig and exotic Landrace and Yorkshire pig. These results could provide scientific basis for the conservation and utilization of those breeds.
