Effect of the Different Additives and the Type of Straw on Frozen-thawed Spermatozoa Quality of Boar

Abstract: The aim of study was to investigate the effect of the different additives in freezing extender and the type of straw on frozen-thawed spermatozoa quality of boar. Different concentrations of caffeine,vitamin E and SOD was added to freezing extender,and the sperm was freezed in three type of straws. Three additives had some right effects on frozen-thawed spermatozoa quality. In this study,the concentration with the best effects was caffeine 0.2 mg/mL, vitamin E 0.4 mg/mL,SOD 300 IU/mL and the type of straw was 0.25 mL. The caffeine, antioxidant and the type of straw have some effect on frozen-thawed spermatozoa quality.
