Progress on Virulence-associated Factor of Swine Streptococcus suis Type 2

Abstract

Abstract: At present，swine Streptococcus suis，a more important zoonotic pathogenic bacteria，has a serious effect on the development of the pig farming industry and human health. The bacteria has thirty-five serotypes，swine Streptococcus suis type 2(SS2) is considered the most virulent serotype, and is pandemic in the worldwide. The major virulence factors play an important roal on pathogenicity. But its virulence factors are the key to effectively combat disease. Then this article mainly summarizes the virulence factors and several virulence-associated factors，which supply the scientific substructure and reference for effective prevention and treatment of this disease.
