Abstract: PvuⅡ polymorphisms of ESR gene were analyzed in nine native and exotic pig breeds including Duroc, Yorkshire, Landrace, Pietrain, Meishan, Erhualian, Fengjing, Rongchang and Sutai pigs with PCR-RFLP method. The results showed that AA, AB, BB genotypes were detected in Yorkshire pigs, Erhualian pigs, Fengjing pigs and Sutai pigs, while only AB and BB genotypes were found in Duroc pigs and Pietrain pigs, only AB genotypes were detected in Landrace pigs, Meishan pigs and Rongchang pigs. There was a significant difference in gene frequencies and genotype distribution among different breeds. The allele A was dominant allele in domestic pig breeds while the allele B was dominant allele in native pig breeds.
