The Study of Antibacterial Activity of Cefquinome to Clinical Bacteria

Abstract: To evaluate antibacterial activity of Cefquinome against some pathogenic bacteria isolated from Shanghai in vitro, using the microdilution to the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) of Cefquinome against four pathogenic bacteria from Shanghai several animal farms is determined by the microdilution and calculate the MIC50, MIC90,and the time killing curve. The MIC50 and MIC90 of Cefquinome against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococci, Salmonella and E.coli. Staphylococcus aureus 0.063, 0.125 μg/mL,Streptococci0.063, 0.125 μg/mL, Salmonella 0.032, 0.125 μg/mL, E. coil 0.125, 0.25 μg/mL. Cefquinome has a low concentration to quickly bacteriostasis and bactericidal activity to Staphylococcus aureus, E.coli, Streptococci, and Salmonella.It can kill all clinical bacteria at one MIC or two MIC in 24 hours. Cefquinome has powerful bacteriostasis and bactericidal activity to clinical bacteria above.
