Isolation and Identification of Goose Paramyxovirus & Epidemic Serum Investigation of Goose Paramyxovirus in Partly County of Chongqing

Abstract: A goose paramyxovirus isolated from dead goose in goose farms of Chongqing was determined by the methods of serology and biology. Objective to study the infectious condition of goose paramyxovirus and Newcastle disease virus in the area, the sera of 124 chickens, 59 ducks and 121 geese were detected by HI test, respectively. The results showed that the goose paramyxovirus and Newcastle disease virus positive infection rates of the chicken were 70.1% and 83.9%, which of the duck were 1.7% and 6.8%, while of the goose were 61.2% and 55.4%. It indicated that the infectious condition of goose paramyxovirus was serious in the area, and there was cross immunogenic properties between the two antigens.
