The Diagnosis and Treatment of Porcine Circovirus Type 2 and Streptococcus suis Mixed Infection

Abstract

Abstract: The author research a case which was suspicious of porcine circovirus type 2 and Streptococcus suis mixed infection in June 2009.The clinical symptom of infected pigs included high fever,anhelation,venous hyperemia. Hemorrhagic lymphadenitis or simple lymphadenitis, apyogenous encephalitis, multiple arthrophlogosis, acute inflammatory splenectasis were found through autopsia. It can be diagnosed porcine circovirus type 2 and S. suis mixed infection though clinical symptom, anatomical change, and laboratory examination. The author gave some advices about prevention and treatment to provide reference for diagnosis and therapy of mixed infection case.
