Abstract: In order to investigate the role of nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain containing 1 (NOD1) during the process of the Salmonella infection, the expression of NOD1 gene in blood was detected in transcriptional level using Real-time PCR method.Chickens were divided into three groups:Salmonella Pullorum group,Salmonella Enteritidis group and control group. The levels of NOD1 expression were detected 1,3,5,7 d during Salmonella challenge. The results showed that there were different changes of NOD1 expression from 1 to 7 d after two kinds Salmonella challenge.Wavy change was observed in Salmonella Pullorum group, gradually increase trend was found in Salmonella Enteritidis group.Compared with the control group, the expression levels of NOD1 mRNA in blood were significantly higher (P <0.05) at 3 and 7 d after Salmonella Pullorum infection and significantly higher (P <0.05) at 5 and 7 d after Salmonella Enteritidis infection. The results suggested that two kinds of Salmonella could promote NOD1 gene expression in blood, and NOD1 gene might be involved in the body against the Salmonella infection.
