The Reason and Controlling Measures of Lameness in Sow Herds

Abstract: Lameness is the second frequency reason for sows culling,which is less frequency than reproductive problems. Sows' early removals from breeding herds for lameness creates considerable economic loss,which is also concerned by animal walfare. Lameness could be prevented by gilt development,suitable facility and nutrient. The review focuses sow's lameness on four points: reason,clinical examination,treatment,preventment and controlling measures.
