Abstract: To study the effects of astragalus heteropolysaccharides (AHPS) on the expression of IL-6 and PR-39 of piglets, the proliferation activities of T lymphocytes and monocytes in peripheral blood were determined by MTT, the IL-6 contents in serum were detected by ELISA, the expression levels of PR-39 in marrow were analyzed by RT-qPCR. The results showed that AHPS could promote the proliferation activities of T lymphocytes and monocytes in peripheral blood.IL-6 contents in serum showed dose-dependent patterns at the same time, and increased significantly with the extension of the injection time.AHPS could increased the level of PR-39 mRNA and showed the dose-dependent patterns. According to the relevant literature and the results, we inferred that AHPS might improve the immunity of piglets by increasing the content of IL-6 and the expression level of PR-39.
