Abstract: According to the cultural and staining characteristics, morphology and biochemical test, slide agglutination test and PCR typing of Streptococcus suis, a strain of Streptococcus suis type 2 was isolated from samples of sick and dead pig. Animal pathogenicity test demonstrated that 2?108 doses can be lethal to mice, muramidase released protein (MRP), extracellular factor (EF) and hemolysin (sly) were all positive according to PCR detection, it provided a candidate strain for oneself inactivated vaccine preparation.
