Investigation of Prognosis for Surgical Resection of Canine Mammary Tumors

Abstract: The surgical resection of 31 canine mammary tumor cases were carried out with simple tumor removal, signal mammectomy, regional mammetomy and unilateral mammaetomy or bilateral mammectomy. The effects of different surgical methods on operative prognosis for the benign or malignant tumour and tumor weight. The results showed that the size of the breast neoplasms were related to the prognosis of affected dogs. With the increase of the weight of tumors, unfavourable prognosis of affected dogs was exacerbated gradually, recurrence rate and death rate had increasing tendence. In clinics, regional mammectomy and unilateral or bilateral mammectomy had certain effect on the prognosis of breast neoplasms affected dogs.
