Abstract: The polymorphisms on complete exon 3 and partial of 3'UTR were detected in 296 Datong yaks with PCR-SSCP and association between the polymorphisms and growth traits were analyzed. There was one polymorphism site in 3'UTR,which was C→T in 1976 bp,three genotypes were caused by this mutation. The association between different genotypes of this site and yak growth traits including body height, heart girth, cannon circumference, body slanting length, body weight were analyzed by least square analysis. The results showed that yaks with CC genotype had significantly higher heart girth and body weight than individuals with CT or TT genotypes (P<0.05). Yaks with CC and CT genotypes had significantly higher body slanting length than individuals with TT genotype (P<0.05),there were no significant difference among three genotypes on body height and cannon circumference.
