The Biological Effects of Conjugated Linoleic Acid and its Use as Supplements in Pig Diets

Abstract: Conjugated linoleic acid is a generic term for a group of polyunsaturated fatty acids that exist as positional and stereoisomers of linoleic acid.It acts as a growth factor to promote a repartitioning of fat to lean,lower blood lipids,and shows anticarcinogenic,and antiatherogenic properties. In the present paper,we present sourece and preparation of CLA ,discuss current knowledge of the role of CLA in animal physiology and health,review advances in its application in pig.
