Abstract: Apoptosis is an important physiological mechanism that organism regulates development of body, cell renewing and maintains homeostasis. In recent years, it was considered that there are three pathways in apoptosis:death receptor pathway, mitochondrion pathway and endoplasmic reticulum pathway which interact with each other and regulate apoptosis coordinately. This author summarized current knowledge of the signal transduction pathways and its regulation in apoptosis.

Key words: apoptosis; signal transduction pathways; death receptor; mitochondrion; endoplasmic reticulum
