Abstract: FPV vector has been received more and more attentions from scholars in recent years. The theorem of the FPV vector is that the heterologous gene is inserted into the replication non-essential region of the FPV genome by homologous recombination. The heterologous gene is efficiently expressed by modifications and other processes, and the biological activity and function of the heterologous protein are not changed, which can stimulate the body to produce strong immune response. Protective antigen genes are successfully expressed for fowl virus, mammalian virus and human infected pathogens after the FPV being used as a expression vector. Now, the FPV has been widely used as one of important gene engineering tools. This paper reviewed the structure, biology, molecular biology, vector and the application of the FPV.
