Abstract: The seroprevalence of toxoplasmosis in pigs was investigated of Xishuangbanna state in Yunnan province.711 serum samples were collected from Jinghong, Menghai and Mengla, which included 680 rural “free-range” pigs samples and 31 slaughterhouses samples, and the Toxoplasma gondii antibodies were detected by indirect haemagglutination (IHA), the test was considered positive when a layer of agglutinated erythrocytes were formed in wells at dilutions of 1∶64 or higher. The results showed that 174 serums were positive, and the seroprecalence was 24.47%. The data of the present survey indicated that pig infection with T. gondii was serious in Xishuangbanna state, it was necessary to enhance integrated strategies and measures to prevent and control T. gondii infection in pigs.
