Abstract: Abstract：Infection of chicken with protozoa Eimeria spp. is quite common with a global geographical distribution, which can cause serious clinical diseases (ie, Coccidiosis) in the host. Chicken infected with Eimeria spp. remains a severe problem for chicken health. As a major way in controlling the coccidiosis in chickens, the use of anticoccidal drugs has caused the development of drug resistance of coccidia and makes it hard to prevent coccidiosis in chickens. Meanwhile, drugs residues cause serious consequences to the environment and human health. Study on coccidiosis vaccines for chicken has become one highlight for many veterinarians. This paper summarized the immunologic mechanism and research progress on chicken embryo attenuated method, physical and chemical method and precocious strain selection method of coccidiosis attenuated vaccine for chicken. The application prospect of coccidiosis attenuated vaccine for coccidiosis control was also illustrated.
