Abstract: With the development of recombinant DNA technology, rapid progress has been made in genetically engineered vaccines. Live recombinant bacteria can induce both mucosal and systemic immune responses against heterologous antigens, which are easy to vaccinate, safe and cost effective. In recent years, using live bacteria as vaccine vectors are becoming hot topic in the field of vaccine studies and development. In this review, the bacterial carriers and their application in the development of vaccines against parasites were discussed, which provide a basis for further studies and development of vaccines against parasites.
