Abstract: Colloidal gold was prepared with the tri-sodium citrate reduction method. To develop gold immunochromatographic assay for detection of specific antibodies of porcine circovirus type 2, protein A labelled colloidal gold was sprayed onto a conjugate pad, meanwhile PCV-2 capid protein and anti-protein A antibodies were striped in the test line position and in the control line position respectively. The color was appeared both in the test line position and in the control line position when the sample was positive. The color was appeared only in the control line postion when the sample was negative. Compared with ELISA, the sensitivity and specificity of the assay were 89.19% and 100% respectively. No cross-reactivity with PCV-1,HCV,PRV,PRRSV,PPV positive serum samples was observed.
