Study on Polymorphisms of Pit-1 Gene in Improved Hybrid BeefCattle Groups from Liupan Mountain Area

Abstract

Abstract: Polymorphism of the pituitary special transcription factor-1(Pit-1) in improved hybrid beef cattle group from Liupan mountain area in Ningxia province was investigated to give the rationale for hybrid improvement. Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphisms (PCR-RFLP) technology was carried out to examine polymorphisms of Pit-1 gene of 101 individuals.The results showed that PCR products of 451 bp digested by restriction enzyme Hinf I showed polymorphisms. The frequencies of three genotypes (AA, AB and BB) were 6.93%(7 individuals)，34.65%（35 individuals） and 58.42%（59 individuals）.There were three genotypes of Pit-1 gene in improved hybrid beef cattle group from Liupan mountain area in Ningxia province. 
