Abstract: A pair of primers were designed to amplify the sequences of melatonin receptor 1A from arctic fox and silver fox according to the sequence homology of MTNR1A from other animal species. PCR product was separated, purified and cloned with the pUCm-T vector. The cloned sequences were 546 bp in length(GenBank Accession No. EU170442 and EU170443). The homology of the nucleotide sequence and amino acid sequence was 99.1% and 99.4% between arctic fox and silver fox, respectively. They had 84% to 86% homology to MTNR1A sequences of human, mouse and sheep, and 74% to MTNR1A sequence of chicken.
