Abstract: Three experiments were conducted to determine the effect of EGF and IGF1 on maturation of buffalo oocytes in vitro. Oocytes were cultured in oocytes maturation medium with EGF and IGF-1 alone or combinedly at different concentration. The results in experimentⅠshowed that there were significant different between control group and the group with EGF(10,20,30,50 ng/ml) in maturation rate, the group with 50 ng/ml EGF was significantly higher than others(P<0.05). In experiment II the maturation rate of buffalo oocytes was improved significantly in the groups with IGF(30 ng/ml)(P<0.05), but not in the group with 10 ng/ml IGF-1. In experiment III the maturation rate in the group containing 20 ng/ml EGF and 30 ng/ml IGF-1 was significantly higher than 30 ng/ml IGF-1 or 20 ng/ml EGF groups(P<0.05). The results obtained in this study indicate that EGF and IGF-1 have coeffects on maturation of buffalo oocytes in vitro.
