The Investigation and Treatment of Parasite Infection among Birds in Zhengzhou Zoo

Abstract

Abstract: Epidemiological investigation of birds parasitosis was carried out in Zhengzhou Zoo. Stools of 66 species birds was collected and detected with Saturation sugar solution float assay. Results: eggs/oocysts were detected in feces of 16 species birds, the most of them were coccidia, the infection rate was 20.51%（24/117）, and the other were eggs of nematode. The infected birds were treated by Diclazuril(0.5%) or Mebendazole Tablet (100mg). The result showed the curative effect of these drugs was significant. 
