Abstract:

CRISPR/Cas system is an immune system present in bacteria and archaea that includes the RNA which has the ability to target viruses invading the host or exogenous DNA fragment of the nucleic acid and the Cas9 nuclease cutting the fragment. In view that the system is easier to operate, more efficient, lower cost, has been widely used in various fields of genetic engineering. Here, we demonstrated the mechanism of CRISPR/Cas systems and summarized the application in respect of the parasite.

Key words: CRISPR/Cas system; Cas9 nuclease; gene editing
