Abstract: The dendritic cells played a central role in antigen recognition, offer, induced proliferation of T cells and antigen-specific immune response. In recent years, it was found that the cells could also induce immune tolerance and this role was a hotspot in immune tolerance research. This article elaborated the research satus from two aspects, the central and peripheral tolerance. The mechanisms were summarized from five aspects, the regulatory T cells, the surface of the inhibitory molecule, mature state, the microenvironment and intracellular signal transduction. The overview would provide relevant informations for the research of the dendritic cell tolerance.

Key words: dendritic cell; immune tolerance; mechanism of action
